Inaugural Adventure to MiddleSettlement Lake, Old Forge, NY
We completed an 8-mile round trip hike to Middlesettlement Lake. Even though the day was a bit rainy and overcast, we were happy to avoid the bugs. The lake is beautiful and is reportedly home to a 36'' (from head to tail) snapping turtle and at least one family of very busy beavers. We took one four-legged travelling companion, Lenny. He's in the last photo. Lenny loved the hike and he ran until he hurt. Poor thing limped out of the woods, but no worries, he's as right as rain now.
We had a lot of fun and are currently planning our next adventure for June. Details will be posted here and at the center as soon as they are determined.
